spring onions 30
cream cheese-I use low-fat. 8 oz.
chipped beef or corned beef 1 jar or 30 slices

Crunchy, fresh spring onions wrapped in salty dried beef and cool, creamy cream cheese. This 3 ingredient appetizer has been a family favorite for decades. It’s easy, inexpensive, can be made in advance and incredibly tasty!

Step 1: Remove your cream cheese from the refrigerator.

Step 2: Wash and pat dry your spring onions. Cut off the root ends and trim the green ends. The next two  steps are optional, but help make them look pretty.

Optional: Carefully slice the green tips of the onions into thin strips. Then soak the onions in ice water for about 30 minutes. Make sure the onions have room to curl. I like to use a 18″x 9″ baking pan. Remove from water when they have curled to your liking and pat dry.

This is the dried beef I usually purchase.

Step 3: Carefully spread about 1/2 a tablespoon of cream cheese onto your dried beef and wrap the beef around the onions. Continue until all of your spring onions are wrapped. Refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
