Ingredients

orange juice 1 cup
milk-I used skim 1/4 cup
orange zest about a tablespoon
sugar 1/2 cup
cornstarch 1 1/2 tablespoons

Sunshine Citrus Syrup is the best way to brighten up your morning. It is easy to make, can be made in advance, and lasts for about 2 weeks in the fridge. I love the burst of orange with my pancakes and waffles. It’s also a delicious treat on top of vanilla ice cream of frozen yogurt or on top of crepes. Heck, I could almost drink it. It’s that tasty!

  1. Zest and squeeze the juice from your oranges. If you don’t want to do them fresh, store bought juice and dried zest work fine as well.
  2. Combine all of the ingredients into a sauce pan.
  3. Place pan over medium heat and bring to a boil stirring frequently.  You don’t want the sugars to burn and the cornstarch to cook in a lump. Allow mixture to boil for about a minute.
  4. Serve.
